Time for a Heart Check Doc

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted…” Luke 4:18a

After letting you know the good news (“the gospel”) that you can live abundantly in all areas of your life, Jesus knew His next assignment, is to use God’s Spirit to heal a broken heart.

Though there are many circumstances that can cause your heart to be broken, I’ve narrowed these circumstances into four categories that I call “The Heartbreakers” which are

1. Tragedies: Unexpected and expected isolated painful events.

2. Abuse: Verbal, Physical,  or Sexual.  It can be an isolated event or happened continually.

3. Disappointment: lost of Hope and confidence in oneself, in people, or from situations.

4. Awareness: This Heartbreaker operates very subtle, its results are strongly embedded.  It happens from being exposed to indoctrination systems that creates or breaks your internal will to produce conformity to another agenda. 

When a heartbreaking event happens:

1. Belief gets broken into unbelief (do not believe in anymore) or disbelief (refusal to accept something as true or real).

2. Trust gets broken into distrust (something can’t be relied on) and mistrust (be suspicious of).

3. Understanding gets broken into misunderstanding (inability to interpret correctly).

4. Wisdom gets removed and replaced with doubt.  Doubt is the activating agent of mistrust, distrust, unbelief, and disbelief.

Healing a Broken Heart

 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”.  Matthew 11:28
